We want to give special thanks to all the school community members who contributed to this campaign and made soft, comfortable beds for animals living in shelters. We’re delighted that there are caring people, and that when we join forces together, we can accomplish so much without requiring a huge effort.
Although this time we ran the campaign only in Klaipėda, we were pleasantly surprised by the Vilkaviškis “Aušra” Gymnasium community, who decided to participate on their own initiative and made the most beds. The students donated all the beds to the nearest Vilkaviškis shelter, taking care of the strays living in their own town. The beds made in Klaipėda were distributed to the “Happy Paws” and “Be My Friend” animal shelters.
Here are the schools that participated in the “Warmth for Paws” campaign and their results:
Vilkaviškis “Aušra” Gymnasium – 25 beds;
Klaipėda “Verdenė” Progymnasium – 21 beds;
Klaipėda “Saulėtekis” Primary School – 17 beds;
Klaipėda Vytautas the Great Gymnasium – 15 beds;
Klaipėda Technology Training Center – 15 beds;
Klaipėda Herman Sudermann Gymnasium – 11 beds;
Klaipėda Vydūnas Gymnasium – 11 beds.
The main goal of this campaign was to involve students and school communities in contributing to the welfare of stray animals and to give old, unused sweaters a second life, providing strays with human warmth, love, and attention. We know that new beds are simply unaffordable for animal shelters, but it’s very important for animals to have their own soft, warm, and cozy corner. After this campaign, 115 strays will be able to sleep in their new beds, but the sad truth is that there are far more abandoned animals. We hope that more communities across Lithuania will join in future campaigns. Together we can do more, and without you, there would be no us. Thank you to everyone who cared! 115 cheers!
