- About Us
We have been fighting animal cruelty since 2014
Lithuania for Animals is a non-profit charity and support fund founded by Deimantė Guobytė’s initiative. This fund raises money to fight illegal animal breeding operations and animal cruelty, care for the treatment and health of injured and abandoned animals, support struggling animal shelters in Lithuania, and find homes for stray animals left without owners.
What makes our organization unique is that we do not have an animal shelter. Our volunteers’ goal is to send rescued animals not to shelters, but directly to temporary or permanent homes. Why is this important?
Rescued animals that go directly to temporary foster homes become familiar with the warmth of a home, human love, and care from the very first days of their new life. In such an environment, animals adapt much faster, experience less stress, can rest, and recover more quickly—both physically and
emotionally.

Charitable Foundation
The LT for Animals Foundation is a charitable organization led by Deimantė Guobytė. It raises funds to support volunteer initiatives, cover veterinary treatment costs for rescued animals, and finance other essential animal welfare efforts.

How We Use Your Support
TRANSPORTATION
When we receive a report about an abandoned animal, we immediately go to the location. We take all rescued animals to veterinary clinics. If an animal finds a new home in another city, we also transport it at our own expense. To enable smooth operations, we need fuel.
INITIAL VETERINARY EXAMINATION AND TESTS
Every animal we take into our care is always taken to a veterinary clinic
to be examined by specialists and to have all necessary tests performed to assess
their current health condition.
QUARANTINE
Some animals need to be quarantined and housed in clinic/hotel facilities
for at least a few days until all parasites are removed and they can travel to their
temporary foster homes.
TREATMENT, MEDICATION, SURGERIES, HOSPITALIZATION
Almost always, our rescued animals are sick—some mildly, others severely. In some cases, animals are so severely neglected that they require surgeries to save their lives. More seriously ill animals need to be kept in clinic hospitalization. Our volunteers make every effort to avoid having to euthanize an animal.
VACCINATIONS AND MICROCHIPPING
To protect an animal from further health problems, vaccinations are essential. We also microchip and register every animal as a ward of the Lithuania for Animals organization.
GROOMING
When we take an animal into our care, we also take it to a groomer. Neglected animals need not only to be bathed, but also groomed, have parasites removed from their coat, have their nails trimmed, and have their ears cleaned.
ANIMAL CARE KIT AND FULL SUPPORT IN FOSTER HOMES
Leashes, collars, food bowls, clothing, beds, transport crates, toys, litter boxes—our organization provides a care kit for every rescued animal. We also provide food and other necessary items for all animals in temporary foster care.
